Councillor Vacancies –
Aymestrey Parish Council
Aymestrey Parish Council is seeking a new councillor to join the Council and help shape decisions affecting the local community.
This is a voluntary role where you will help represent local residents, influence parish priorities, and support improvements across the parish.

No experience is required. Training and support are available for all new councillors.

What parish councillors do
As a parish councillor, you will:
- represent the views of local residents
- help shape decisions on local services and facilities
- contribute to planning and community discussions
- support projects that improve the parish
This is a practical, community-focused role that helps ensure local voices are heard.
Eligibility
To stand as a parish councillor, you must:
- be at least 18 years old
- be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen or an EU citizen
You must also meet at least one of the following:
- be registered on the electoral roll for the parish
- live, mork, or own property in the parish
- live within 3 miles of the parish boundary
You must not be disqualified from holding office as a councillor.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Co-option will be considered at each Parish Council meeting until the vacancy is filled.
