The Aymestrey Good Neighbour Scheme is a friendly, volunteer-led service offering practical help and support to people in our parish.

Whether you need a hand with everyday tasks, a lift to an appointment, or simply someone to talk to, we are here to help.

Our aim is simple: to help people stay independent, connected, and supported within our community.

What is the Good Neighbour Scheme?

Good Neighbour Schemes are run by local volunteers who provide day-to-day support for people who may need a little extra help. They play an important role in reducing loneliness and helping people remain living independently in their own homes.

In Aymestrey, the scheme is tailored to our community and offers flexible, neighbourly support when it’s needed most.

How it works

Volunteer with us

We are always looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to support the scheme.

You don’t need any special qualifications — just a willingness to help others in your community.

Volunteering is flexible and can include:

Even a small amount of time can make a big difference.

Cost

The Good Neighbour Scheme is free to use.

In some cases, you may be asked to cover small out-of-pocket expenses (such as fuel for transport), but this will always be agreed in advance.
