Remembering Those Who Served

The community is warmly invited to join us for a Remembrance Service at 10:50am on Sunday 8 November at St John the Baptist & St Alkmund Church, Aymestrey.

The service will provide an opportunity to pause, pray and remember those who gave their lives in times of war and conflict, including members of our own community.

We will remember those from our own parish who lost their lives in the two World Wars as their names are read aloud. A solo trumpet will sound the Last Post and Reveille, marking a moment of reflection, followed by a fascinating short talk exploring this year’s theme, ‘Prisoners of War — The Great Escape’, and the remarkable stories behind it.

The earlier start time allows us to join the nation in observing the traditional two-minute silence at 11am.

We will remember them. And at Aymestrey, we really do.
